2014 Photography Show

2014 Photography Show
I have been the chairperson for my local art center's photography show for 2 years now. I submitted 11 images this year and these 8 were accepted by our 3 judges. Sadly I didn't place with any of them but they are for sure a few of my favorites from this past year, with the exception of the hot air balloons I did that a few years ago. I had some tough competition for sure, there were so many beautiful entries. I was excited that my daughter placed in the "Faces" category. Win or lose I will continue on and hope to get better and better with my photography. Thanks to all of you for your input and comments.

Safari West III

Safari West III
Well I have taken my third trip to Safari West near Napa, Ca. This time we did a little glamping (glamorous  + camping) and I must say I love this place. It is a great place for a photographer + animal lover to go. For the most part you get to see the animals in a natural environment. A place you can go and see a herd of zebras roaming the 400 acres,  among many other animals. I especially love the giraffes!! So here are a few of my shots from my recent trip.

Birds, Birds and more Birds

Birds, birds and more birds
For someone who doesn't consider herself a birder, I sure have a lot of bird pictures.  I just made my third trip to Safari West to go glamping (glamours+camping) between Santa Rosa and Napa, Ca. Had a great time as always. If you ever get the chance to go, do it. www.safariwest.com  I was able to take a behind the scenes tour and was able to see and pet a baby flamingo and a baby great horned billed, we also fed a porcupine and the highlight for me was being able to feed their herd of giraffes a big bowl of carrots and bananas. But back to the birds I am posting here. These are birds from many locations that I have shot. I hope you enjoy.
