Churches

Churches
I really never realized I had so many church shots until I started writing this blog entry. I just love the architecture, it is truly art to me, from the simple to the very ornate. So here are a few shots that I have gotten in my travels.

Night Photography

Night Photography
Night photography as always been a challenge and interesting to me. Here are a few shots of long exposures at night.  I have always loved lights and lighting so I think that might be my attraction to this type of photography.

Boats

~~~~~~~~Boats~~~~~~~~
I really never realized how many boat shots I had until today. While editing a few images from Alaska I started looking back at some of the boat shots I had. These were taken in Alaska, New England and the California Delta.
Lodi, California
Lodi, California
I moved to Lodi in January and am always looking for new places to go shooting. I also have designed 2 sets of postcards to put at my local merchants for sale. This is set number 2 that I just got back from the printers. I have been able to capture some sunsets and also our local celebrities the Sandhill Cranes. I have posted before about the cranes but with living so close I now can go visit them several times a year while they are here. The farmers around us will flood their fields for the cranes and other birds. It is quite a site to see hundreds of them flying in.
Stuck in Lodi Again
Stuck In Lodi Again
OMG I am really afraid people are going to start calling me the crazy bird lady!! While out for a drive the other evening to look for something interesting to photograph, we wandered down Stanton Island Road on the outskirts of Lodi, Ca. And low and behold there were the Sandhill Cranes and some Egrets as well and many other birds. So we got out and wandered around the area and stuck around for sunset. Here are a few of my images from that night.
Big Boom
Big Bay Boom/Bust
I was in San Diego on vacation last summer and was excited to be shooting fireworks for the 4th of July. Well to our surprise the Big Bay Boom celebration became known at the Big Bay Bust! They had a technical issue and all of their fireworks went off in a 15 second explosion. OMG it looked like Bagdad on a bad day. It set off all the car alarms we were sitting on a big patio at our hotel and could feel the repercussions from it. Here is what it looked like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrPCEubDZ9A&feature=share&list=PL6D9939F65F689853
Boy was I glad that just over the water at Coronado was another fireworks show. So that is where I got this shot with my 50D, F2.8, 6.0 sec, ISO 100.
Sunsets and Sunrise
 Sunsets and Sunrise
I love shooting at sunset and sunrise. Although I am not a morning person so sadly there is only one sunrise in these shots. It is amazing how sunsets are never the same. I think if I shot 365 sunsets and maybe 1 sunrise a year they would all be totally different. I love when there is a storm coming near sunset, clouds can turn any picture pretty in my opinion.
Safari West III
Safari West III
Well I have taken my third trip to Safari West near Napa, Ca. This time we did a little glamping (glamorous  + camping) and I must say I love this place. It is a great place for a photographer + animal lover to go. For the most part you get to see the animals in a natural environment. A place you can go and see a herd of zebras roaming the 400 acres,  among many other animals. I especially love the giraffes!! So here are a few of my shots from my recent trip.
