California Lighthouses

We recently did a run with our car club that included 7 lighthouses on the California Coast. We visited Piedreas Blancas, Point Sur, Point Pinos, Santa Cruz, Walton, Pigeon Point and Point Montara. Great weekend with my WCKCC (West Coast Kappa Car Club)

Bodie State Park, Calif

I have visited Bodie State Park on a few occasions, it is the best ghost town that I have ever heard of. This place is truly a photographer's paradise. There are pictures to take everywhere you turn. The day I went was a bit windy and warm but for the most part I made good use of my 4 hours of wandering around Bodie. I could go again and probably still walk away with a few hundred images.

Sunflower Garden

I heard about Nancy's sunflower garden and her fight against breast cancer and thought I needed to go check it out since my sister Pam is a 25 year survivor. Nancy lives in Cameron Park and decided to grow a sunflower garden and these pictures are the result of her hard work. She opened her home and garden up for a donation towards breast cancer. Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places to go. This shot of Emerald Bay is one of the view sunrise pictures in my portfolio. I am not much of a morning person. But I did get up for this shot and am glad I did. The pier picture is of the longest private pier at Lake Tahoe, I love clouds in my pictures and I was quite fortunate to get them in the pier picture and the shot at Sand Harbor, the last picture is also Sand Harbor but for a sunset shot.

Great Reno Balloon Race

This was for sure a bucket list kind of shoot for me. This is the Great Reno Balloon Race. This was a few years ago that several of us went to see the Hot Air Balloons. We got up at O'DarkThirty to walk up to where they have the "Glow Show" it was amazing to watch these balloons lit up to synchronized music at 5 in the morning. I was pretty much beat for the rest of the day but it was well worth it. There was also a tribute to 9-11 since that was the day we were there.

Antelope Canyon~Page, Arizona

One of my bucket list items was being able to shoot inside of these slot canyons on Navajo land near Page, Arizona. I was so very lucky to be on a tour with a guide who appreciated the fact that I was the only person on the tour who had brought a tri-pod and a trigger release to try and capture some shots of these beautifully created canyons. She even brought me back inside for a few minutes after the tour had passed through and I was able to fire off a few shots without people in my way. Unfortunately they schedule the tours rather close together, before I knew it the next tour group was showing up. But not before I was able to get a few shots and to fulfill my bucket list item. Amazing place!! 

Las Vegas Umbrellas

On a trip to Vegas we decided to go inside the Venetian and inside they had all of these umbrella's on display. I was very happy to have my camera along. I have never been asked more questions about a photo of mine than I have been asked about the umbrella's.
