Pescadero, Ca and Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Took a trip to the coast in April and stayed near Pescadero, Ca. We found some beautiful back roads and took a drive. The forest was awesome after a little rain, the smell was amazing. I love just finding little out of the way locations to wander around. 

Old Sugar Mill, Clarksburg, Ca.

This Old Sugar Mill is in a very small town called Clarksburg. The sugar mill is now owned and operated as a winery and wedding venue. There are a lot of the old buildings and structures still standing and not in use.The day I was out there I was able to get inside to get this picture with the help of my daughter Mary. It was sad to look inside one of the many brick buildings to see painters inside covering the beautiful brick with paint. The next time I visited the room that I got this picture in was closed off.

Safari West~Santa Rosa, Ca.

Safari West~Santa Rosa, Ca.

I have been to Safari West 2 times now and have my 3rd trip booked for November which will include an overnight stay (they call it glamping) and a behind the scenes tour. I am so excited to be going again. I love this place. It is truly an amazing place to visit and to be able to see giraffes and zebras just walking around 100's of acres and not in a small cages.

Monterey, California

I have always had a love for the ocean, living in California I get to make this journey often. What trip to Monterey is complete with out doing the 17 mile drive and a visit to the Lone Cypress Tree and to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I often wonder if I lived at the coast would it still be as special to me.

USS Midway

While in San Diego on vacation we made a visit to the USS Midway. What an awesome experience. Walking the same decks and hallways where there is so much history was awe inspiring to say the least. Here are a few of my favorite shots from that trip. 

California Lighthouses

We recently did a run with our car club that included 7 lighthouses on the California Coast. We visited Piedreas Blancas, Point Sur, Point Pinos, Santa Cruz, Walton, Pigeon Point and Point Montara. Great weekend with my WCKCC (West Coast Kappa Car Club)

Bodie State Park, Calif

Bodie, Ca

I have visited Bodie State Park on a few occasions, it is the best ghost town that I have ever heard of. This place is truly a photographer's paradise. There are pictures to take everywhere you turn. The day I went was a bit windy and warm but for the most part I made good use of my 4 hours of wandering around Bodie. I could go again and probably still walk away with a few hundred images.
